AcupuncTure

Acupuncture is a branch of Chinese medicine used to balance the body, mind and spirit. An acupuncturist corrects an imbalance in the system by inserting tiny sterile needles into acu-points which run along meridians. Years of medical studies suggest the body-mind reacts to the treatment by sending healing chemicals throughout the system. There is also a local benefit of increased circulation and improved range of motion. Three regulating systems, nervous, endocrine and immune, are involved in action of acupuncture creating an environment of homeostasis.

Fertility acupuNcture

Whether you’re trying to conceive naturally or you’re currently on a journey toward IVF, acupuncture can boost your success rates. Most patients find acupuncture extremely relaxing, just what you need during this stressful time. Beyond all the benefits like, balancing hormones, regulating your menstrual cycle and increasing blood circulation acupuncture improves the connection in body and mind and spirit. Research shows that regular treatment for four to eight weeks leading up to the transfer, and follow up treatments afterwards, can lead to an increase in the egg quality, provide a healthy uterine environment for implantation, and improve live birth rates.

moXibusTion

Moxibustion (or moxa) is the practice of burning the herb mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) on or near the skin. It warms the body and dispels cold and damp stagnation. It also builds blood and nourishes the muscles. I’m trained in all forms of moxibustion and especially like pole moxa for larger areas or rice grain moxa on acu-points in place of or in addition to needles. Patients with low blood counts, cancer recovery patients and generally those in need of an immune boost most benefit from the  nourishing and warming qualities of moxabustion.

FacIal Rejuvenation

Facial Rejuvenation optimizes the tone, color and texture of the skin through the rebuilding of collagen with tiny acupuncture needles. The needles are placed along muscle fascia to lift the skin and tone the muscle. People will notice your glow! It’s a great boost for your health inside and out because every session includes full body acupuncture treatments.  Additional services may also include jade guasha for smoothing or facial cupping. For the best results schedule 7 sessions once per week, then monthly thereafter.

cuppIng

In our practice we use sliding cupping which feels like a deep massage. It moves blood, lymph and improves circulation. Stationary cups are used to draw out impurities, tonify the lungs and helps keep you immune system strong during cold and flu season.

Facial cuppiNg

Facial cupping is a form of facial massage. It stimulates lymphatic circulation, detoxifies, clears and brightens complexion. It’s a great way to reduce sinus congestion, decrease jaw pain/tightness, and lessen puffiness too.
